What Will I See on My Casa de Shenandoah Tour?February 22, 2016
Welcome to Casa de Shenandoah!
You’ve just arrived at one of Nevada’s most interesting, beautiful and entertaining attractions. Located a short drive from the famous Las Vegas Strip, Casa de Shenandoah is a 52-acre estate that’s been the home of Wayne Newton – “Mr. Entertainment” – for five decades.
The first stop on any Casa de Shenandoah visit is our bright and airy Visitor Center. It’s located along Sunset Road north of our estate grounds – you can’t miss Wayne Newton’s signature along the front! There is ample parking for cars, RVs and tour busses in our large parking lot.
Once inside the Visitor Center, you can purchase tour admission or redeem vouchers at the ticket desk. We offer three tour options: Gold, Platinum or Diamond.
All tours begin with a 15-minute introductory film in our comfortable and ADA-outfitted Shenandoah Theater. It gives an insider’s glimpse into Wayne Newton’s life, as well as fellow entertainers and political dignitaries talking about the impact his entertainment career has made since he started as a child performer.
At the conclusion of the film, guests board our custom shuttles. You can’t miss them – they’re wrapped with photos of Wayne Newton himself driving one of his many antique cars! The shuttles are climate-controlled; are easy to board and exit; and are wheelchair-capable.
You’ll be driven across Sunset Road through the ornate golden gates of Casa de Shenandoah past its distinctive white brick enclosure. The scene that unfolds as you drive into the lush estate is spectacular. Filled with meticulous landscape, it’s hard to believe you’re in the dry Mojave Desert. Of special note are the ponds and fountains that are fed by natural artesian wells beneath the property.
Your shuttle will park outside our Museum. It houses an expansive collection of memorabilia that Wayne Newton has acquired. This includes his private jet that’s connected to the building. Walking through it is amazing! Many display cases in the building hold mementos of Wayne’s close connection to the U.S. Armed Forces and the USO; his friendship with many U.S. presidents; and of course a kaleidoscope of entertainment photos, stage costumes and more. The Museum also houses many of his vintage luxury automobiles.
Next you’ll visit the Aramus Arabians stables area – Casa de Shenandoah is an actual working ranch. Our skilled trainers will guide a number of these magnificent and intelligent creatures through an exhibition of equestrian moves. A covered grandstand allows for shaded seating and comfortable enjoyment of the show.
Following, you’ll be driven to our wonderful Exotic Animal Exhibit. Here, you’ll meet Boo the capuchin monkey (he’s a total charmer!), Simon the talkative parrot and their pals. Casa de Shenandoah is home to doves, parakeets, South African penguins, wallabies and more!
For our guests who opt for our Platinum Tour option, it’s on to the Mansion. It’s an opulent and amazing home filled with art and antiques. For Diamond Tours, the experience also includes exploring secret rooms and passages, plus a visit to Wayne’s childhood home – it’s the original Casa de Shenandoah homestead.
After journeying through the wonders of Casa de Shenandoah, you’ll be shuttled back to our Visitor Center to conclude your “Wayne Newton” experience. Like Las Vegas itself, it’s like nothing else in the world.
