Viva! “Mr. Las Vegas” Returns to the Strip

April 20, 2016

It’s been five long years since the letters “Wayne Newton” were last illuminated on glittering Strip marquees, but 2016 is shaping up to be all about Mr. Las Vegas.

Earlier this April, the quintessential entertainer helped inaugurate the amazing new T-Mobile Arena along with hometown rock stars, The Killers. Not only did Newton perform a rousing set of his own that included the classic song, “My Way,” he also joined the band on stage for a finale, playing scorching guitar riffs during the eternal rock ‘n’ roll anthem, “Johnny B. Goode”!

Even better for Wayne Newton fans, he’s headed back to the Strip with a brand new production: Wayne Newton: Up Close and Personal. The fantastic show begins Thursday, April 21 at Bally’s Las Vegas. It will journey into new, exciting territory for the gentleman known for decades as “Mr. Entertainment.”

“I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to return home to the Las Vegas stage, especially to perform such a personal and unique show,” Newton says.

The show will be a diverse mix highlighting Newton’s artistry. For music, he’ll lead audiences in a rousing journey through his immense catalog of hit songs. Of course, it will include the beloved platinum record, “Danke Schoen.” Many more of his numerous bona fide hits, from crooners to ballads, will fill the evening, too.

Along the way, he’ll also share many humorous tales and heartwarming anecdotes from his six decades of living in Las Vegas.

“This will be very different and a more intimate show than I’ve done in the past and I’m looking forward to interacting with each audience and sharing stories from my life in Las Vegas, some of which I’ve never told before,” he adds.

He’ll also hold a Q&A session during each show; this is something uncommon in the Entertainment Capital of the World! Audience members will be able to ask about his music and film career, as well as about Casa de Shenandoah and its vast collection of memorabilia. People can even ask questions about Boo the Monkey and all the other animals that live here in our Exotic Animal Exhibit!

The show’s venue, the Windows Showroom in Bally’s Las Vegas, is the perfect setting for Newton to thrill crowds yet again. The magnificent space is located in the very heart of the Strip, so visitors staying at legendary hotels from Caesars Palace and Paris Las Vegas to the Flamingo and Planet Hollywood won’t have far to go to enjoy him in person. It’s also easy to access for Southern Nevada locals, too.

Tickets are available now. They may be purchased online at, by calling (702) 777-2782 or in person at any Las Vegas Caesars Entertainment Box Office. Prices start at $75, and VIP packages are available for $150 (they include preferred seating and a meet-and-greet).

All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and run Wednesday through Saturday.

So, whether you’re a longtime “Wayniac” or a brand new superfan, Wayne Newton: Up Close and Personal is a must-see show. Even more, we here at Casa de Shenandoah look forward to hearing everybody’s questions. See you soon!
